For many people who grew up in the 80’s, the Commodore Amiga was possibly the coolest and favorite computer ever made. In 1987, the Amiga 500 replaced the Amiga 1000 (1985) with the main difference being the increase of memory from 256K to 512K and a new disk drive chip named “Gary”.
As a direct competitor to the Atari 520/1040 ST computers, Amiga overall performed better and more software was written for this machine.
