The CXG SPHINX COMET has four different playing styles.
NORMAL: on NORMAL playing style the computer will concentrate equally on attacking and defending.
AGGRESSIVE: on AGGRESSIVE playing style the computer will concentrate on attacking the opponent, and will normally avoid exchanging pieces if possible.
DEFENSIVE: on DEFENSIVE playing style the computer will concentrate on building a solid defensive position, it will make many pawn moves, and it will normally exchange pieces whenever possible.
RANDOM: on RANDOM playing style the computer will make many pawn moves, and will sometimes make a strange move rather than always playing the best move.
MATE PROBLEMS
The CXG SPHINX COMET has a special MATE LEVEL for solving mate problems up to mate in 5 moves.
With its four different play styles, this little chess computer provides a lot of variety in play and hours of testing fun for you to discover which play style suits you best.
This seems to be the last model CXG produced and sold themselves under the brand CXG in 1992. CXG did produce some other model in 1993 for Excalibur Electronics.
