In 1989 Sharp Corporation began releasing a series of Sharp Wizard Orgnanizers.  Expansion cards were sold for these Organizers one of which allowed you to play chess.

While not exactly a dedicated chess computer, the Sharp card was dedicated to the game of chess making it worth having in a collection.
