Mephisto MM IV (1987)

MEPHISTO MM IV uses an 8 bit 6502 microprocessor running at a speed of 4.9152 MHz with 32 KB ROM available for the program and its functions. 8 KB RAM is used for the program’s game memory. The built-in opening book comprises of approximately 500 variations. The HG 440 openings module works with the MMIV. This module increases the openings library to 23,000 half-moves (ply)in 3,000 variations.

The program was written by German programmer Ed Schroeder.
