THE CHESSMASTER 2100 is another brilliant game with many improved features compared to its predecessor CHESSMASTER 2000. The chess engine in the Disk version was written by Dan & Kathe Spracklen and is a modified and improved version of SARGON III. The cassette tape version according to Mark Manyen (lead programmer for early versions of the Chessmaster series) had a different chess engine due to space constrictions. In the cassette tape version a version of David Kittinger’s MYCHESS was used.
You can switch between the OPTION MENUS and the game’s CHESS BOARD with the F1 Key. Chess moves can be entered by either Joystick, using your PC’s directions arrows or entering the moves directly ie. e2e4.
