You can play against the chess computer. Eight levels of play are available. Moves are made using a joystick controller. The chess board and pieces are shown on the screen. Both ‘castling” and “en passant” can be made by you or the computer. The board can be set up for a particular chess problem or situation. The computer can play either white or black.
Uses one Joystick Controller. ROM cartridge. Operates with minimum 8K RAM system.
Excerpts taken from an ATARI catalog.
Notes:
- Instruction booklet states Level 1 for 30 seconds per move, this seems to be wrong Level 3 seems to be more appropriate.
- Atari Chess (1986) is the same program.
